Warriors baseball hold on and WIN Regionals 4-3. What an exciting game. Congratulations. Next game will be about 3pm against the winner of Stevenson or De La Salle in the MHSAA state division 1 quarterfinals.

Warriors string together a few hits to tie the game 2-3 then Cam Thorning with a shot to right field to put the Warriors up 4-2 over Brother Rice. Top of the 6th. Let's go Warriors.

Saturday, May 30th, Woodhaven Kiwanians along members of the Woodhaven High National Honor Society and Varsity Hockey team delivered 275 cases of cereal between seven local food pantries that serve families in our School District.

It didn't just happen Saturday. Students at all Woodhaven-Brownstown Schools collected cereal throughout May. Together our schools collected 131 case of cereal. Friday, May 29th, members of the Brownstown Middle School Charity Club and National Junior Honor Society help Kiwanians collect the cereal from all the schools. In addition, to the cereal collected in the schools, Woodhaven Kiwanians purchased 144 cases of cereal. Each pantry received about 150 pounds of cereal.

The concept of a summer cereal drive originated with the Professional Nurses Association at Children's Hospital. The sad realization is Summer Break is not Great for everyone. Children suffering from food insecurities miss their free breakfast and lunch served at school every day. Local food pantries have a big challenge in the summer meeting the needs of children.

Woodhaven High School alumnus Cooper Eckert is turning adversity into inspiration with the release of his new book, One Good Run. A former WHS swim team member, Cooper began writing after suffering a life-changing neck injury while swimming.

One Good Run follows the story of Sketch, a young man struggling with grief and self-doubt as he searches for the strength to move forward. The novel is described as “a bittersweet tale of loss, resilience, and learning that sometimes moving on means honoring what you've left behind.”
