Today, Woodhaven High School sat in silence as students listened to the Fentanyl Fathers. It wasn't just a presentation; it was a raw, heart-wrenching look at the reality of an epidemic that is claiming 196 lives a day.
The statistics are staggering, but the stories are what stayed with us. One father shared: "This is how I honor him and get through life... I do it for your families. Families are left with a life of pain and misery."
The message was clear:
One pill can kill.
Counterfeit pills are everywhere, and they don't give second chances.
The pain, regret, and guilt left behind for parents like Mike Gillette is a weight no one should have to carry.
Students, you have goals, dreams, and a bright future ahead of you. Don't let one mistake take that away.
Take what you learned today and start a discussion. Talk to your parents. Talk to your friends. It’s a conversation that could save a life.

Join us on Tuesday, March 24 at 7:00 PM in the WHS Auditorium as the Eastern Michigan University Wind Symphony makes a special stop at Woodhaven High School during their annual spring tour!
This incredible concert is FREE and open to the public — and it will feature some familiar faces!
We’re proud to share that WHS alumni Emily Briggs (Class of 2021) and Morgan Kelly (Class of 2025) perform with the ensemble. Even more exciting, several WHS and Brownstown Middle School students will have the opportunity to perform alongside the EMU musicians during the concert!
Let’s pack the auditorium and give these talented performers the amazing Woodhaven audience they deserve!
