❤️ From October 12–23, we're collecting non-perishable, kid-friendly food items to help replenish Downriver food pantries during a critical time of year.

Mr. Hloros’s US History Class recently participated in a Mock Trial. Students took on the roles of lawyers, witnesses, and judges to debate whether the farmers were justified in rebelling against the Massachusetts government. Through research, questioning, and debate, students explored both sides of the conflict.

At Woodhaven High School, athletics are about more than just wins and losses. Sports are a powerful vehicle for building character, developing lifelong habits, and forming a community we can all be proud of. To clearly define who we are and who we strive to be, the WHS Athletic Department is proud to introduce The Warrior Standard.
Culture is our collective personality. It is the shared values, beliefs, and behaviors that define our identity and influence how we interact, make decisions, and pursue common goals. The Warrior Standard serves as our foundational framework, built on seven core pillars that every coach, student-athlete, and supporter will uphold:

Wegienka’s fourth graders recently took their learning outside - and onto the Woodhaven Warriors football field! The students got a hands-on lesson in measuring distance as they discovered just how far 1 yard, 10 yards, 100 yards and even a mile really are.
There’s nothing quite like getting out on the field to feel the distance instead of just reading about it in a textbook! The students had a great time exploring, measuring and seeing the football field from a whole new perspective. 📏👟
And tonight, they can put that new knowledge to the test! 😉 The Woodhaven Warrior Varsity Football team takes on rival Gibraltar Carlson at 7 p.m.
After the recent lesson, our fourth graders should have no trouble figuring out exactly how far the Warriors need to go for a first down… or all the way to the end zone! 🏈💜

🎉 Learning Through Lotería!
As part of Hispanic Heritage Month, students in Mrs. Palovich’s class at WUE took part in a special lesson exploring the significance of the month and celebrating Hispanic culture and traditions.
Students played Lotería, a traditional Mexican bingo-style game that is popular in Hispanic communities. Those who had played before had the chance to show off their skills by calling out the cards in Spanish, while their classmates listened carefully and matched the corresponding pictures on their game boards. And instead of traditional bingo chips, students used black beans as markers! 🫘
WUE School Counselor Maria Klass also joined the class for the lesson with EL Teacher, Mayrna Hedeen, helping students learn, participate and celebrate together.
It was a fun way to bring culture, language and history into the classroom—and a great reminder that learning can happen through connection, conversation and play! ❤️💚
