Attention Student Athletes & Families - Mark your calendars for the annual Warrior Day Physicals. As a reminder, all students need a MHSAA physical dated after April 15, 2026 to participate in sports during the 2026-27 school year.

✨ Students at Erving Elementary took a trip through the universe this week — without ever leaving school!

The SkyDome Planetarium visited Erving, giving students an unforgettable, immersive journey through space inside a portable inflatable planetarium. From identifying planets in our solar system to exploring constellations and Greek mythology in the stars, students experienced the night sky like never before. 🌎🪐⭐

Using a digital planetarium projector and laser-guided tour, students learned about the stars of the Northern Hemisphere, seasonal night skies, and different global perspectives — all while traveling among the planets in dramatic virtual “flights.”

What an amazing opportunity to spark curiosity and inspire future astronomers! 🚀🔭

🎶🏆 Congratulations to Woodhaven High School band teacher Bradley Faryniarz on being named the District 12 Band and Orchestra Teacher of the Year by the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association!

Mr. Faryniarz was recognized for his dedication to students, excellence in music education, and leadership of Woodhaven’s outstanding band program. Bates Elementary third graders are celebrating America’s upcoming 250th birthday in a creative and patriotic way!

Through lessons on the Declaration of Independence, hands-on colonial activities, and a special visit from the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Monguagon Chapter, students explored early American history before designing their own flags to represent Bates Elementary. ❤️🤍💙

The winning flag will proudly fly above Bates Elementary next school year as a symbol of school pride, creativity, and patriotism! 🎉🦅

🌵✈️ Adventure Across the Southwest!

Fourth graders in Mrs. Burger’s class recently became travel show hosts as they researched and presented the Southwest states through a creative video project! Students worked together to write scripts, create travel brochures, and film their own travel-style presentations featuring Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma.

From learning about famous landmarks and festivals to stepping in front of the camera, students built confidence, teamwork, and presentation skills along the way. 🎥📚

Brownstown Middle School students went to Boston, Massachusetts last week for an exciting and educational trip filled with learning and fun. Students explored historic sites connected to American history, including famous landmarks that brought classroom lessons to life. In addition to sightseeing, students had opportunities to bond with classmates, try new experiences, and make lasting memories. The trip was a wonderful success and gave students a deeper appreciation for the history and culture of Boston.

Last night's WBSD Board of Education meeting was all about celebrating our PEOPLE! Retirees were honored, teachers achieving tenure were recognized and new staff were hired. Thank you and congratulations to all those achieving milestones last night.
