Progress doesn’t have to be big to matter. A short walk, a deep breath, or checking in with a friend can make a difference. Small steps forward are still steps forward.

Today is National School Nurses Day, and we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible professionals who keep our district healthy, safe, and ready to learn.
Our school nurses are often the first line of defense in student wellness. Whether they are managing chronic conditions, responding to emergencies, or simply providing a calm space and a kind word for a student who isn't feeling their best, their impact is immeasurable.
Why We’re Grateful Today (and Every Day):
Expert Care: They handle everything from complex medical plans to playground scrapes with professional ease.
Student Support: They ensure that health barriers don't stand in the way of a student's education.
Community Safety: They are vital leaders in wellness education and public health within our schools.
Peace of Mind: They provide a safety net that allows parents and teachers to focus on growth and learning.
To our district nurses: Thank you. Your expertise, patience, and compassion make our schools better places to be. You are the heart of our health services, and we are so lucky to have you on our team.

🚨✨ Junior Jedi Race: Operation Grogu was a GALACTIC success at Woodhaven Upper Elementary! ✨🚨

🟣 The Thermal Detonator Toss – Precision throw to disable enemy defenses
🟣 The Desperate Evasion (Gauntlet) – Sprinting through a dodgeball “attack”
🟣 The Ewok Scramble – Low crawling to avoid detection
🟣 The Asteroid Field Navigation – Spinning through space and staying on course
🟣 The Carbonite Freeze – Freezing in place at the sound of the whistle
🟣 The Mustafar Heat Shield – Final hydration before the last push
🟣 The Reverse Warp – Running backward to escape the tractor beam

Monday Mindfulness 💜
Since its inception in 1949, Mental Health Awareness Month has been a cornerstone in addressing the challenges faced by millions of Americans living with mental health conditions. Throughout May, WBSD proudly participates in this national movement - working to reduce stigma, provide support, and promote education that prioritizes the well-being of our students and families.
Today is a fresh start. Take a moment to breathe, reset, and choose a positive mindset. Prioritizing your mental health - even in small ways - can shape the rest of your day.
