Students explored why certain animals live in groups and discovered something fascinating — when more “fish” were added to the tub, the “predator” had a much tougher time catching them. 🪶✨ At Woodhaven Upper Elementary School, 5th graders in Mrs. Krappitz’s and Mr. Kozlo’s classes have been diving into the culture of Native American tribes in the Pacific Northwest Region.
As part of their learning, students explored the meanings and purposes of totem poles. Each student selected 5 animals out of 14 that best represented them, then designed and colored their own to create unique totem poles.
The results were creative, personal, and a wonderful way to connect learning with self-expression! 💜
