"Oh, the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go
Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!"
We know students love "snow days," but did you ever wonder how the decision is made? Listen to the new episode of the Warrior Way Podcast HERE - Weathering the Storm: Inside WBSD’s School Closure Process to learn more. https://rss.com/podcasts/thewarriorway/1782681

Happy Thanksgiving to our WBSD Families!

The WBSD has a great safety system, Zonar, for our bus transportation system that can be a great tool to be used by parents.
- Watch a demo video for the new Zonar MyView app here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IPVdnZPnSs
- Download the Zonar MyView app in your device’s app store.
WBSD’s Code is: WOO9929 (This is letters “W” and “OO” not numbers)
- Login to your Parent Connect and find your child’s bus route information under the Transportation tab.
If you would like to use the additional feature, the Z-Pass, you may request one by scanning the QR code or filling out this document - https://tinyurl.com/ydkj6s2p
For more information, check out your school's weekly principal communication for more on Zonar.

Staff at Woodhaven High School got a sweet surprise today with their coffee delivery from the Brew Crew. Special guest, Hutch, with his moms Meghan and Felicia, came for a visit. Hutch, who has a special friendship with Jaiden who helped show him around, visited classrooms with students.
Students and staff both enjoyed their time with Hutch, who is named after Lions defensive end, Aidan Hutchinson. Learn more about Hutch’s story here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epiBn806Gek
SADD has a "Grateful Tree" posted on the glass wall of the PBLZ. Students have been encouraged to write things they're thankful for on leaves that are taped on the wall.
Students Against Destructive Decisions (S.A.D.D.) is a peer education, prevention, and activism organization dedicated to preventing destructive decisions, particularly underage drinking and other drug use, risky and impaired driving, teen violence, and teen suicide.
Many of these items listed on the Grateful Tree could be at risk if you engage in risky behaviors. Make thoughtful and wise decisions.

To kick off the History Club at Brownstown Middle School, Mike Sollars, President of the
Brownstown Historical Society as well as other special guests came to speak to students to peak their interest and ideas for projects.

DECA and the Rotary club are doing a coat collection drive to help students in need in the school district. Please consider donating new coats. Donation sites are listed on the flier.

Woodhaven High School DECA students are partnering with Woodhaven Brownstown Rotary with their Warm Coats for Kids campaign. NEW coats are being collected for students who otherwise may not have a coat. This longstanding partnership with DECA and WB Rotary has helped collect hundreds of coats over the years which are then distributed throughout the district for students. Thank you for considering donating a new winter coat for a child!

Just a reminder that the WHS Girls Basketball tryouts are from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 18 and Tuesday, November 19 at Woodhaven High School. Students must have an athletic physical on file to participate.

Opening next week! Join the State Champion Woodhaven Theatre Company for an evening of Shakespeare's classic set in the tempestuous fall of 1990 in Downriver.

Students in the Brew Crew magically transformed into the Boo Crew today for Halloween! It wouldn't have been possible without the help of Mrs. Holland and the students in her graphics arts classes. Students were able to participate in the process and watch the shirts being made!
