Our kindergarten students at Gudith Elementary celebrated International Dot Day by reading The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds and discovering the message behind the story: everyone has the ability to make their mark!
After reading the book, our young learners put their creativity to work by creating dots for a special Dot Day mural along the new kindergarten hallway. Each dot is unique—just like the students who made them—and together, they create something beautiful as a community. ❤️
International Dot Day began in 2009 when teacher Terry Shay introduced his students to The Dot. Inspired by the story of a student who learns to trust in her own abilities, Dot Day has grown into a worldwide celebration of creativity, courage and collaboration.
What started with one small dot on a piece of paper continues to inspire people of all ages to be brave, get creative and make their mark.
We love seeing our youngest Warriors do just that! 💜

Today, at Gudith Elementary, 4th grade students gathered together around our flag to remember a day that changed our country forever. Twenty-five years ago, on September 11, 2001, our nation faced a moment of great sadness and fear. Many innocent people lost their lives, and many families lost people they loved. Today, we remember each of them and honor the lives they lived.
But when we remember September 11, we also remember courage. We remember the firefighters, police officers, first responders, military members, teachers, doctors, and ordinary people who showed incredible bravery when others needed help. They did not know exactly what was going to happen, but they chose to help. They chose to be brave. Their courage showed us what it means to put others before ourselves.
We also remember unity. In the days and weeks after September 11, people across our country came together. They helped strangers. They supported families. They stood beside one another. Differences that sometimes seemed important suddenly mattered much less than the fact that we were all Americans, all neighbors, and all human beings who needed one another.
Today, 25 years later, we raise our flag together. No one person is raising it alone. Each of us has a hand on the rope, and each of us has a part in lifting it higher. That is what unity looks like. When we work together, we are stronger. When we stand together, we can face difficult things with courage.
As fourth graders, we can carry that lesson with us every day. Courage doesn't always mean doing something heroic. Sometimes courage means standing up for someone who is being treated unfairly, helping someone who is struggling, trying again when something is difficult, or doing the right thing even when it isn't easy.
So as we raise our flag today, let us remember those we lost, honor those who showed courage, and celebrate the strength we find when we stand together.

🚧 Bond 2021 Construction Update! 🏗️💜
Big things are happening at Bates, Erving, Gudith, Wegienka and Yake Elementary Schools!
Construction has been in full swing all summer as we prepare to welcome students back on September 8. Thanks to the support of our community through the 2021 Bond, our elementary schools are being transformed with exciting new learning spaces designed for today's students and tomorrow's opportunities.
When students return, they'll be welcomed by:

✨ New classroom additions (Gudith)
✨ Remodeled classrooms (Wegienka)
✨ Updated library and media centers (Wegienka)

Construction has been in full swing all summer as we prepare to welcome students back on September 8. Thanks to the support of our community through the 2021 Bond, our elementary schools are being transformed with exciting new learning spaces designed for today's students and tomorrow's opportunities.
When students return, they'll be welcomed by:
