Gudith Elementary welcomed former teachers and staff back to school recently for a special Alumni Tea — an opportunity to reconnect, reminisce and celebrate the people who helped shape the school’s history.

Guests enjoyed tea, small tea sandwiches and pastries while sharing memories and catching up with former colleagues. The gathering offered a chance to reflect on the lasting impact of the educators and staff members who helped lay the foundation for generations of Gudith students.

Principal Thomas Martin also led a tour of the school, giving guests the opportunity to see the recent renovations and new addition made possible through the district’s bond work. The visit offered a glimpse of how Gudith has grown and evolved while continuing its tradition of serving students and families.

“We wanted people who set the foundation of the school to see the updates and celebrate their history here at Gudith,” Martin said.

Martin also reflected on the lasting influence of former teachers, sharing how lessons and words of wisdom from educators who came before him continue to resonate with him today.

Former staff members who attended the Alumni Tea included Sue Amimo, Barb Smith, Matt Czajkowski, Sandy Kliza, Angela McCarthy, Jackie Phalzer, Cheryl Kovach, Jean Weatherhead, Bunny Kurc, Jacquie Studnika, Eric Shilakes, Nicole Ozimek and Pat Wireman.

Sometimes, the impact of a teacher extends far beyond the classroom — living on in the memories, values and experiences passed from one generation to the next. Gudith’s Alumni Tea was a celebration of those connections and a heartfelt thank-you to the people who helped make the school what it is today.
