Every week, Mrs. Henderson and Ms. Stoops bring a little extra warmth to BMS with the Coffee Cart, a program that’s serving more than just drinks.
On Thursdays during 4th hour, teachers place their orders ahead of time and students in Mrs. Henderson’s Cross-Categorical classroom get hands-on practice filling out receipts, preparing drinks, and delivering orders throughout the building.
On Fridays during 1st hour, the Coffee Cart rolls again—this time stopping at classrooms proudly displaying the Coffee Cart logo.
This program gives students meaningful opportunities to build expressive and receptive language, strengthen social and conversational skills, practice life skills, and gain confidence… all while spreading joy throughout BMS!
The cart offers coffee, hot chocolate, teas, smoothies, and even baked goods. Purchases are open to BMS teachers and staff using cash or a punch card.
Thank you, Mrs. Henderson, Ms. Stoops, and our amazing students, for making Coffee Cart such a special part of our week!

Under his guidance, WBSD has grown academically, expanded opportunities for students, enhanced facilities, and strengthened its financial foundation. We are deeply appreciative of his service and look forward to celebrating his impact with our community.

On Sunday, December 7th, The Goonies competed in the Grosse Pointe Woods Qualifier against 32 talented teams. We are incredibly proud to announce that the team placed an outstanding 5th overall! This resulted in The Goonies being the captain of the 4th alliance in the playoffs.
In addition to their strong performance on the field, The Goonies also earned the highly respected Sustain Award for their commitment to building a sustainable robotics program for our school. This is a testament to the hard work, planning, and dedication of all our team members.
Please join us in congratulating every member of Team 8777, The Goonies, for their success and for representing Brownstown Middle School with such skill and gracious professionalism.
The team is already looking forward to building on this great foundation as they head into the offseason and plan for next year's competition! Go Goonies!

Today Woodhaven-Brownstown School District celebrates International Day of Persons with Disabilities - it serves as a global reminder of the importance of inclusion, accessibility and respect for the rights and dignity of all people with disabilities. This year's focus encourages communities to remove barriers, celebrate strengths, and ensure all students have the chance to thrive in the classroom, community and beyond.
In the WBSD, inclusion is not an initiative - it is our commitment.

Our BMS Service Squad wrapped nearly 40 tissue boxes in winter, birthday, and brightly colored wrapping paper. A few students even wanted to add handmade ornaments to make the gifts extra special. The goal is to offer a small, cheerful surprise to seniors who may not have a visitor during the winter season or on their birthday.
We’re proud to share that all of these decorated and wrapped gifts were delivered to Forest View in Woodhaven to brighten the days of residents in our community. This event was proudly supported by the Woodhaven-Brownstown Education Foundation

On Monday, 32 members of the Brownstown Middle School National Junior Honor Society, along with 4 staff members, volunteered at the Gleaners Taylor South Distribution Center. For two hours straight, students worked hard on two packing lines - helping prepare nearly 800 boxes of food to support around 20,000 people in our community.
This meaningful experience was made possible thanks to the Woodhaven-Brownstown Education Foundation (WBEF), which provided bussing through one of its grants.
Thank you, WBEF, for helping our students make a difference and for your continued support of hands-on learning experiences that strengthen our community! 💪💜
