This year, Film Club at WHS built from the ground up and learned the ins and outs for planning, shooting, and creating a short film, and they were able to submit their video to the Michigan Student Film Festival in Detroit!
For their first video ever created, Film Club students received the distinction of "Honor" which means they had "above average" quality in their film.
Students had the opportunity to attend the film festival at the DIA, and they had a blast watching the "Best in Show" films and learning more about the competition itself. For next year, there are already a lot of ideas for how to move forward with the club!
Featured here are students Zubair Chaudhry, Bryce Johnson, Oghenetega Djere, and Karlee Austin.

Rooted in learning. Growing for the future. 🌱📚
Happy Earth Day! Today, we’re celebrating our planet by challenging all Warriors to take action. Let’s work together to keep our schools and neighborhoods beautiful!
Today’s Challenge:
♻️ Recycle extra mindfully at home and in the classroom.
🌻 Plant something native to Michigan to support our local ecosystem.
🗑️ Pick up litter during your evening walk or at a local park.
Small steps lead to big changes. How are you helping the Earth today? Share your photos in the comments! 👇

BMS Student Council Gives Back to Local Animal Shelters!
Our BMS Student Council recently hosted a donation week to support local animal shelters — and our students and staff responded with incredible generosity!
Thanks to our school community, we were able to deliver 3–4 large boxes of donated items to each shelter, helping provide much-needed supplies for animals in their care.
On Wednesday (4/15), Student Council members personally dropped off donations to shelters in Taylor, Romulus, Lincoln Park, Brownstown, Woodhaven-Trenton, and Flat Rock. While there, students even had the opportunity to spend time with some of the animals who will directly benefit from these contributions.
We are so proud of our students for showing leadership, compassion, and a true commitment to serving others. This is the Warrior Way in action!
