We’re proud to partner with the Brownstown and Woodhaven Police Departments, whose collaboration and presence are vital to keeping our schools safe and welcoming.
WBSD is fortunate to have three full-time School Resource Officers dedicated to our schools:
👮♂️ Officer Joe Mathews (Brownstown Police Department)
👮♂️ Officer Bob McNamara (Brownstown Police Department)
👮♂️ Officer Raul Villareal (Woodhaven Police Department)
These officers are more than just a presence — they’re trusted mentors, proactive leaders, and familiar faces who help build positive relationships with students and staff. Their dedication to safety and community connection is woven into the daily life of WBSD.

On Monday, 32 members of the Brownstown Middle School National Junior Honor Society, along with 4 staff members, volunteered at the Gleaners Taylor South Distribution Center. For two hours straight, students worked hard on two packing lines - helping prepare nearly 800 boxes of food to support around 20,000 people in our community.
This meaningful experience was made possible thanks to the Woodhaven-Brownstown Education Foundation (WBEF), which provided bussing through one of its grants.
Thank you, WBEF, for helping our students make a difference and for your continued support of hands-on learning experiences that strengthen our community! 💪💜
