COUNT DAY IS TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY, October 2! Let’s make it COUNT!
As a reminder, the State of Michigan requires public schools to take an official count of student attendance on two designated days each school year (one in October and the other in February).

Welcome October! 🎃
The school year is in full swing, and October brings so much excitement to our schools! Stay tuned for upcoming events, including Fall Festivities, community enrichment programs, performing arts concerts, athletics and PTO meetings, just to name a few! If you haven’t downloaded our WBSD app, make sure you do and check out all the events going on in the district. You can view events, share them and even add them to your own digital calendar.

Dear Families,
We are committed to our goal of every student being in the classroom and ready to learn every day, all day and all the way! Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school—and themselves.
Start building this habit in preschool so they learn right away that going to school on time, every day is important. Eventually good attendance will be a skill that will help them succeed in high school and college.

Sending out this message to remind all Yake families about our fundraiser that is taking place today at the Texas Roadhouse in Taylor. When your Gators come home from school and ask, "What's for dinner?," they will be pretty excited when you say that they get to enjoy the delicious rolls and cinnamon butter at “Texas Roadhouse” this evening. In addition to swapping out dirty dishes for delicious salads and steaks, you will also be helping our PTO since 10% of all proceeds will go back to our PTO. I am definitely looking forward to enjoying a steak for dinner tonight!
I hope to see many of our Yake families there tonight!

Good afternoon,
Our Gator Bites, which usually go out at 1:00 p.m. will be held until 5:00 p.m. this afternoon. Stay tuned as we will share a great picture of our 2024.25 Student Council at 5:00 p.m. this afternoon!

September 17 - National Constitution Day
On September 17th, the Woodhaven-Brownstown School District joins the nation in commemorating Constitution Day. This day marks the anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution in 1787—a document that has guided our nation for over two centuries.
We celebrate the principles of democracy, justice, and liberty that form the bedrock of our country. It’s also a day to honor those who have become United States citizens, embracing the rights and responsibilities that come with this proud designation.
Let’s encourage our students to learn about and appreciate the Constitution, which continues to shape our nation and our lives.
