Let’s dance, Warriors! 💜

Please see the message below from Yake father and company Theatre Director, Mike Clemons. Former Yake Gators were well represented with Josephine Clemons as the Student Director for "Wiley & the Hairy Man." Holden Clemons, Emmalyn Pinnegar, Harper Clemons, Broderick Justian, & Conor Hatfield were all a part of the State Champion team. Congratulations, all around! I can't wait to see "Mama Mia" in May.
Good morning!
Please join me in congratulating the students of the Woodhaven Theatre Company on another stellar showing at the 2026 MIFA State Theatre Finals last weekend. The WTC sent three productions this year. A Short Play (new event) A Walrus in the Body of a Crocodile (student directed by Brooklynn Coleman), Studio Production Eurydice (student directed by Cooper Fondaw), and Main Stage Production Wiley and the Hairy Man (student directed by Josephine Clemons).
The Short Play was recognized with the Bare Stage Brilliance award (which included a small grant for the company), Eurydice placed 2nd in the State in Division 1 Studio, and Wiley and the Hairy Man placed 1st in Division 1 Main Stage, earning Woodhaven's 4th straight State Championship!
The cast and crew were also awarded many Excellent and Superior Awards (slides attached). Above all, these outstanding students represented the WBSD with talent, tenacity, and unparalleled commitment.

Save the date for Mamma Mia on May 7-9!

In the Woodhaven-Brownstown School District, we are so grateful for our three outstanding SROs:
👮‍♂️ Raul Villarreal of the Woodhaven Police Department
👮‍♂️ Joe Mathews of the Brownstown Township Police Department
👮‍♂️ Bob McNamera of the Brownstown Township Police Department
School Resource Officers are so much more than law enforcement. They are mentors, educators, informal counselors, role models, and trusted adults. They build relationships, create safe learning environments, and help bridge the gap between students and law enforcement in meaningful ways.
Thank you, SRO Villarreal, SRO Mathews, and SRO McNamera, for the care, protection, guidance, and presence you bring to our schools each day. Our students, staff, and families are better because of you. đź’™
