(put bullying in the past: dress up for your favorite decade - 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90’s, 00’s)
- Words of wisdom/morning announcement about being an upstander.
- Strong people stand up for themselves. Stronger people stand up for others." - Chris Gardner.
- To be an upstander means that you stand up for others when they are treated unkindly. Upstanders act when they see name-calling or bullying behaviors. An Upstander will invite someone to play with them, tell a name-caller to stop, and even seek the help of an adult when necessary. By agreeing to be a “team of upstanders” we choose to look out for each other and help each other when needed. Let’s all team up against name-calling this week and make our school a great place to learn.
Tuesday, October 22nd - Be a Leader
(build a future without bullying - dress like your future career)
- Words of wisdom/morning announcement about Leadership
- “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, YOU ARE A LEADER”. -John Quincy Adams
- “Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other” – John F. Kennedy. Being a leader means being a role model and setting an example for others to follow. It also means listening to others, learning to understand them and finding solutions that are helpful to everyone.
