aiden stork with his finalist design

Brownstown Middle School seventh grader Aiden Stork is getting statewide recognition for his artistic talents after being selected as a finalist in Michigan's 2026 "I Voted" Sticker Contest.

Aiden's design, inspired by Michigan's iconic Mackinac Bridge, was chosen as one of the finalists from entries submitted by students across the state.

"My design is inspired by the Mackinac Bridge because when I was younger I drove over it and I thought it was really cool," Aiden said.

The project took Aiden about two days to complete after learning about the contest from his mom, Kristin Stork, a social studies teacher at Brownstown Middle School.

Aiden decided to enter because he thought it would be exciting to create something that voters across Michigan could wear.

"I thought it would be cool to have my design as a sticker that everyone will wear when they vote," he said.

When he learned that his design had been selected as a finalist, Aiden said he was thrilled.

"I was very excited and am hoping it gets picked," he said.

If selected as the winning design, Aiden's artwork could be distributed to voters throughout Michigan during future elections.

"It would be special because a ton of people will be wearing something I created," Aiden said.

Public voting is open through June 30 and voters can vote more than once. Aiden has a simple message for the Woodhaven-Brownstown community: "Vote Aiden!"
