SchoolMessenger Details -
The Woodhaven-Brownstown School District uses the emergency notification system called SchoolMessenger. This system will be used to communicate general school information, district school closings, emergency notifications, student attendance, negative lunch balances and other school-related information.
Two new features SchoolMessenger offers are: 1) everyone can create an account directly on SchoolMessenger’s website to “opt-in” to receive district notifications by phone call and through text messaging; 2) Guardians that are on file in our student database can also “opt-in” to receive school district notifications. Activating text message notifications with School Messenger can only be done on the website, not the app.
By creating an account you will automatically link to the records associated with your email address or phone number from our student information database. The phone number that will be called are the same numbers we have used in the past that are stored on our student information database.
The success of the SchoolMessenger notifications is dependent upon the school having the most up-to-date phone numbers and email addresses in our student database. If your phone number or email changes, please notify the school immediately.
Once you create an account, you can then:
• Review the last 30 days-worth of messages for all your associated records
• View your contact information and configure how you would like to receive notifications
You will find all these messages in an easily accessible inbox. If you are associated with students in different schools or districts, all matching records will be linked to your account.
