WBSD offers unique programming and learning opportunities for students with native language or home language other than, or in addition to, English. Our services focus on supporting students with English language acquisition and development while assisting them with core academic content. 

The district encourages students and families to continue embracing, celebrating, and maintaining your native language(s) and cultural identities.

Certified EL teachers provide individualized or small group instruction based on the student’s English Proficiency alongside mainstream classroom learning. 

Levels of instruction are tailored to students’ proficiency levels. Students with low English proficiency are scheduled into a daily English- Language-Development course, while students with high English proficiency receive resource and coordinated support from a certified EL teacher.
