WBSD 2021 School Bond
A Clear Vision for WBSD's Future
In May 2021, voters in the Woodhaven‑Brownstown School District approved a $144 million bond, calling it a “destination for excellence” initiative, with zero tax-rate increase. The investment supports infrastructure upgrades, learning enhancements, athletics improvements, and more.
Beginning Fall 2024, the district implemented a major K–12 reconfiguration, shifting grade alignments to enhance academic and social-emotional learning.
Why Reconfiguration + Bond Upgrades?
Academic Focus: Grade-level realignments boost tailored instruction—keeping younger students in elementary settings longer and guiding older students with increased academic independence
Structural Enhancements: Bond-funded investments support this shift via school renovation, HVAC upgrades, security enhancements, technology enhancements, new playgrounds, athletic fields, and specialized spaces
Supporting Learners: Everyone from Pre-K to high school benefits from modern, safe environments aligned with developmental needs.
