Though a new business to Brownstown, Francesca’s Brick Oven Pizzeria has already made its presence felt in the community through its donation of free pizza for events and sponsorship of sports teams at the Woodhaven-Brownstown School District (WBSD). Owners Francesca and Rami Elawadi feel strongly about giving back to the community, especially to their children’s school and have made the relationship to the district a priority.
At Woodhaven-Brownstown School District (WBSD), we value the community partners that step forward to collaborate with us as we bring growth and development opportunities to our students. Sometimes our partners provide us with funding to purchase materials for classroom activities while others, like the Brownstown Recreation Department and Woodhaven Recreation Department, organize events and after-school activities to keep students’ minds and bodies active.
The Woodhaven-Brownstown Rotary Club is a growing organization and proud WBSD partner. For over 35 years, WB Rotary has offered WBSD students scholarships, provided donations and hosted events and fundraisers with the district. Read more here:
The Kiwanis Club of Woodhaven works to advance educational opportunities through donations, service
projects and fundraisers to help meet needs in the community and around the world. Since its inception
in 1976, Woodhaven Kiwanis and Woodhaven-Brownstown School District (WBSD) have partnered to
support children in the community. Over the years, Woodhaven Kiwanis has provided WBSD with more
than $150,000 of resources, including school funding, products and games.
When the Woodhaven Chick-fil-A opened in October 2021, one of the first things it did was partner with WBSD. Cody Gibson, owner and operator, comes from a family involved in education, so it was a no-brainer to announce the grand opening of the restaurant at a Woodhaven High School home football game. We are grateful for their support and look forward to continuing the partnership in the coming years.
